Beat That Winter Cold with Apple Cider Vinegar?

It's a new year and you're getting a new start. This means it's the perfect time of year for your body to go through a nice winter cleanse. In this case, you might come down with some of the common cold symptoms of running nose, sneezing, scratchy throat, and some minor aches in the body. Sounds fun, I know.

If you're anything like me (the busy NYer), we don't have time for colds, right? On the plus side, this is your body's way of finding balance, so try to just let it run its course and go through what it needs to. Slow down a bit!

However, just to quicken the process, I was recently suggested this remedy which just might help you cope with the symptoms. Apple Cider Vinegar and some strong miso soup!

Just take a heaping tablespoon and add it to about 2 cups of room-temp water and drink as fast as you can get down. It's a bit harsh, so please DO NOT try on an empty stomach or if you start feeling nausea. Follow it down with a nice warm bowl of miso soup, and you'll have yourself up and about in no time.

Now, don't hold me to this, I've just tried it today and so far so good! If you've tried this before OR if you would like to try it, please post a comment and let me know! Love hearing about your experiences ;)

  2. Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is the best, in fact, many drink it 3 times a day for optimum health results: 1-2 tsp Bragg's ACV and 1-2 tsp organic honey into 8 oz purified water, 3x day (upon arising, mid-morning, mid-afternoon). Recipe for the Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar health drink is on back of bottle. Here's a "where to buy" link from the Bragg web site: http://bragg.com/reseller/retailerlist/locator_entrypage.html
There is also a book available on the subject.
